Additive manufacturing parameters

Parameter Details
Orientation Sets the 3D printing build direction parallel to the X, Y, or Z axis of the Global Coordinate System. If you select the X+, Y+, or Z+ orientation, the design is built in the positive direction of the axis. If you select the X-, Y-, or Z- orientation, it is built in the negative direction of the axis.

The Orientation parameter influences creation of supporting geometry with respect to overhang angle constraints.
Include all directions Selects all orientation directions to be considered in the setup of a generative study.
Overhang Angle Specifies the largest angle between a face of the shape and the build direction for which an object can be 3D printed without supports. The angle size depends on the material, machine, and process settings. The default size of 45° works well for most additive processes.

additive - overhang angle
Minimum Thickness Specifies the minimum typical value of the beam diameter and wall thickness in outcomes. The minimum thickness of structural components depends on the material, machine, and process settings.
