Get familiar with tools in the Generative Design workspace toolbar.
You access commands in the panels of the Generative Design workspace toolbar. Some commands also provide access to contextual environments, such as the Edit Model and Explore contextual environments. Each of these environments contains specific tools to help you accomplish your tasks efficiently.
The commands in the toolbar are arranged from left to right to guide you through the process of setting up a generative study. Though the suggested workflow is left to right, the sequence is not rigid. For example, you could specify Objectives before applying Constraints.
When you enter the Generative Design workspace, the Define tab displays by default.
From the Guide panel, select Toggle Learning Panel to display or hide the Generative Guide in the Learning Panel. It displays the steps needed to set up a generative study.
Use the tools in the Study panel to create and manage studies for any given model. You can also display and modify study settings from within this panel.
Select Edit Model to launch the Edit Model contextual environment. In this contextual environment, you can use standard Fusion modeling tools to create and edit model geometry and create obstacle and preserve geometry.

Use the tools in the Design Space panel to specify a design space by assigning geometry types to bodies.
Use the tools in the Design Conditions panel to specify design conditions by applying constraints and loads.
Use the tools in the Design Criteria panel to specify design objectives and manufacturing constraints.
Use the tools in the Materials panel to select and manage materials in a generative study.
Use the tools in the Generate panel to run a model pre-check, generate design alternatives (outcomes), and view the progress and details of the generation.
Select Explore to launch the Explore contextual environment. In this contextual environment, you can explore alternative solutions (outcomes) using tools that help you identify the optimal outcome.

Use the tools in the Select and Inspect panels to select, measure, and interact with your model throughout the process of setting up a generative study.
