Navigation bar reference

The Navigation bar is the floating toolbar at the bottom of the canvas. It contains the commands you use to orbit, pan, and zoom your design, and the display settings that control how the model, grid, and viewports appear in the canvas.

Orbit

Rotates the current view around the model.

The Orbit button always shows the mode you used most recently. Click the drop-down arrow to switch modes.

Look At

Zooms and rotates the model so that the selected face, edge, or line displays parallel to the screen.

Pan

Drags the view across the canvas without changing the zoom level or orientation.

Zoom

Increases or decreases the magnification of the current view. You can use Zoom while other navigation commands are active.

Fit / Zoom Window

Frames the model in the canvas.

This control shows the label of whichever option you used most recently, either Fit or Zoom Window.

Display Settings

Controls the visual style, environment, effects, and visibility settings used to display the model in the canvas.

Visual Style

Sets how faces and edges are rendered. Select from the following options:

Environment

Sets the background and lighting environment for the canvas. Select from the following options:

Graphics Preset

Applies a graphics preset. Select from the following options:

Effects

Toggles canvas effects that can enhance the appearance of objects in the 3D canvas. Some effects can impact graphical performance. Select from the following options:

Object Visibility

Shows or hides categories of objects, such as work features, sketches, origins, canvases, and decals, without changing individual visibility settings in the Browser. The list of categories changes depending on the active workspace and document.

Camera

Sets the projection used to render the canvas. Select from the following options:

Ground Plane Offset

A slider that raises or lowers the ground plane relative to the model.

Note: If you split the canvas into multiple viewports, Visual Style and Camera are also available as separate controls that apply only to the active viewport.

Click Enter Full Screen or Exit Full Screen at the bottom of the Display Settings menu to toggle full screen mode.

Grid and Snaps

Controls the layout grid and snapping behavior in the canvas.

Viewports

Splits the canvas into multiple views so you can see the model from different camera positions at the same time.

Note: When multiple viewports are enabled, you can turn on Synchronize Views to apply navigation and visibility changes to all viewports at once.
