Separate a shared part number

If you're a hub admin, you can separate a shared part number group into models with unique part numbers. Reasons you might want to do this:
- Large shared part number groups may have been created during data transfer or hub migration.
- Someone mistakenly assigned the same part number to multiple unrelated models.
Separate a shared part number
- Find and copy the shared part number you want to separate.
- In the Fusion web client, click your profile
in the upper right of the page. - Click Admin.
- Click the Numbering tab.
- In the Numbering tab, scroll down to Shared Part Number Separation.
- In the Part Number box, enter or paste the shared part number you want to separate.
- Click Begin Separation.
Secondary models in the group are assigned unique part numbers and their histories are reset. The primary model retains the original part number. If there are children of these models, they are unaffected.
