Upgrade your legacy project (Open, Closed, or Secret) to a Folder-Level project for better security and granular control.
You need project or hub administrator permissions to do this.
An upgrade may take a few minutes. You can only initiate one at a time, but you can have multiple upgrades running concurrently.
Once upgraded, you cannot revert a project to its previous type.
During the upgrade, you will not be able to transfer or archive projects, add or remove members, or change members’ roles.
Pending invitations (not yet approved by administrators) will be removed and will need to be recreated.
Shared links to projects will remain intact.
All members of the project will be able to see the names of all the folders in the project after the upgrade. This remains true even if you limit access to certain folders in the upgraded project. In other words, even if a member does not have access to the contents of a folder in a Folder-Level project, they will still be able to see the folder's name.
If this presents privacy issues, consider creating a separate project for sensitive folders. This way, folder names will only be visible to the members of that project. See the section, Names of protected folders can be visible, in Projects.
Projects with 475 or more members and groups cannot be upgraded. If you need to update such a project, consider consolidating individual members into groups to reduce the total number.
