Insert DXF reference

Insert DXF lets you insert a DXF file into the active design.

Design > Insert > Insert DXF

Select the DXF file to import, the plane to place the DXF file on, then set how layers are inserted.

Use the 2D geometry from the DXF file as sketch profiles for 3D features.

Plane/Sketch

Select the plane or sketch to position the DXF file. If a sketch is active and the Insert Mode is set to Single Sketch then the active sketch is selected automatically.

Select DXF File

Select the DXF file to insert then if you are not in a sketch, select the plane or planar face to place the DXF file.

Insert Mode

• Single Sketch Inserts the layers selected in the DXF layers list into one sketch.
• One Sketch per Layer Inserts each layer selected in the DXF Layers list into individual sketches.

X Distance

Specify a distance to move in the X direction.

Y Distance

Specify a distance to move in the Y direction.

DXF Layers

Lists the layers available in the selected DXF file. Select the layers to import.
