How to insert McMaster-Carr components to Fusion

You can insert McMaster-Carr components into your Fusiondesigns, or assemblies.

1. In the Design workspace > Solid or Surface tab, click Insert > Insert McMaster-Carr Component .

2. Click OK in the dialog. The McMaster-Carr web site opens automatically inside an active Fusiondocument.

   

3. Browse to a desired component, a bolt for example. CAD icon informs you that there are technical drawings, and 3D models available for the component.

   

4. Click a part number.

5. Click Product Detail.

   

6. Scroll down to a drop-down to select a 3D format.

   Note: Only SAT and STEP 3D formats are supported.

   

7. Click Save. The selected component is inserted into the current design.

   

How to edit properties of McMaster-Carr components

In Fusion, you can edit only the part number, part name, and description of inserted McMaster-Carr components.

1. Select the component in the browser.
2. Right-click, and select Properties.
