Assign a plastic rule to a component

Learn how to use the Assign Plastic Rule tool to assign a plastic rule to a component to automatically control the properties of plastic features, like physical material and thickness in Fusion.

Assign a plastic rule to a component

  1. On the Design toolbar, select Plastic > Setup > Assign Plastic Rule assign plastic rule icon.

    The Assign Plastic Rule dialog displays.

  2. In the Browser or the canvas, select a Component to assign it a plastic rule.

  3. In the dialog, select a plastic rule:

    • In this design: Plastic rules already in use in this design.
    • Library: Plastic rules from the cloud library.

  4. Click OK.

Assign a different plastic rule to the component

  1. Assign a plastic rule to the component using the steps above.
  2. Select the component in the Browser, and click Assign Plastic Rule.

Remove a plastic rule from a component

  1. In the Browser, expand the component node.
  2. Right-click the plastic rule, then select Remove Plastic Rule.
