Create an axis through two points

Learn how to use the Axis Through Two Points tool to create a construction axis that passes through two vertices or snap points, or any mix of the two, in Fusion.

1. On the toolbar, select Construct > Axis Through Two Points .

   The Construction Geometry dialog displays, Type is set to Axis and Method is set to Through Two Points.

2. Select an Extent Type option to establish the end point of the axis.

3. In the canvas, select the first vertex or snap point.

4. Select the second vertex or snap point.

5. Click OK.

The new construction axis displays in the canvas, passing through the two vertices or snap points you selected.

Tips

• You can only create one construction axis at a time.
• Create construction axes when you want to reference an axis or edge that does not exist and is not one of the 3 default axes.
• Snap points help on complex or periodic geometry where a vertex alone does not give the placement you need.
• To change either end of the axis after you create the feature, select it in the timeline or browser and use Edit Feature.
