Create a midplane

Learn how to use the Midplane tool to create a construction plane at equal distances from two faces or planes in Fusion.

  1. On the toolbar, select Construct > Midplane midplane icon.

    The Construction Geometry dialog displays, Type is set to Plane and Method is set to Midplane.

  2. Select an Extent Type option to establish the end point of the midplane.

  3. In the canvas, select the first face or plane.

  4. Select the second face or plane.

  5. Optional: Set Resize:

    • Default: Size the plane to fit the selected geometry.
    • Extended: Size the plane to fill the current view.
  6. Click OK.

The new construction plane displays in the canvas, positioned an equal distance from each face or plane you selected.
