Create a User Coordinate System
Learn how to create a User Coordinate System (UCS) that you can reference in assembly constraints, manufacturing setups, and other downstream workflows in Fusion.
Click Design > Construct > User Coordinate System (UCS)
.
The UCS dialog displays.
In the Canvas, select a Snap point to place the UCS.
Use the handles in the Canvas or specify exact values in the dialog to adjust the Alignment settings:
- X Angle: Rotate the user coordinate system around the X axis.
- Y Angle: Rotate the user coordinate system around the Y axis.
- Z Angle: Rotate the user coordinate system around the Z axis.
- Offset X: Enter a distance to offset the user coordinate system along the X axis.
- Offset Y: Enter a distance to offset the user coordinate system along the Y axis.
- Offset Z: Enter a distance to offset the user coordinate system along the Z axis.
Optionally, adjust the Z and X Axis Alignment:
- Z Axis: Select an edge or face to align the Z axis of the user coordinate system.
- X Axis: Select an edge or face to align the X axis of the user coordinate system.
Click OK.
The new user coordinate system displays in the Canvas and in the Browser > Construction folder.
Tip
- Place the pointer over a face, then hold
Ctrl (Windows) or Command (MacOS) to snap to points on that face.
