Chamfer reference
The Chamfer command rounds the edges of a solid body in Fusion by removing material from exterior edges or adding material to interior edges.
Design > Modify > Chamfer
Selection box
Add or remove selection sets to apply different chamfer settings to each selection set.
Each line in the selection box represents a different selection set.
Adjust the following settings for each row independently:
- Chamfer Type
- Distance
- Angle
- +: Add a selection set to the list.
- X: Remove the highlighted selection set from the list.
Type
Select the type of chamfer to create for the highlighted selection set.
- Equal Distance: Bevels edges based on an equal distance to each side.
- Two Distance: Bevels edges based on a different distance to each side.
- Distance And Angle: Bevels edges based on a single distance and an angle.
Edges/Faces/Features
Select edges, faces, or features to create chamfers.
Hold Ctrl
(Windows) or Command
(MacOS) to modify the selection set after you adjust the Distance or Angle values and the command preview displays on the solid body in the canvas.
Note: You can only select features for the Equal Distance chamfer type in Parametric Modeling mode.
Distance
Specify the distance value for the chamfer in the units of the current design.
Note: For the Two Distance chamfer type, you can specify two different distance values. The first distance value you specify applies to both sides of the chamfer. Any additional adjustments only apply to the side of the chamfer you are modifying.
Angle (Distance And Angle chamfer type only)
Specify the angle value for the chamfer in the units of the current design.
Tangent Chain
Check to automatically select tangent geometry.
Corner Type
Select the type of corner to apply where chamfers meet.
- Chamfer: Creates a chamfer to join beveled edges at the corner.
- Miter: Merges beveled edges into a mitered corner point.
- Blend: Blends beveled edges into adjacent faces.
