Use selection filters

Learn how to use selection filters to select specific types of objects in Fusion.

  1. On the toolbar, expand the Select > Selection Filters menu.
  2. Check or uncheck selection filters:
    • Select Through: Selects hidden objects in the Window or Freeform selection modes. If you uncheck Select Through, you can only select objects that are not obscured by other objects in the canvas.
    • Select All: Selects all object types.
    • Bodies: Selects solid and surface bodies.
    • Body Edges: Select edges on solid or surface bodies.
    • Body Faces: Selects faces on solid or surface bodies.
    • Body Vertices: Selects points on solid or surface bodies.
    • Canvas: Selects canvas images.
    • Components: Selects components.
    • Custom Graphics: Selects custom graphic images.
    • Decal: Selects decal images.
    • Dimension: Select sketch dimensions.
    • Features: Selects parametric features.
    • Joint Origins: Selects joint origins.
    • Joints: Selects joints and tangent relationships.
    • Mesh Bodies: Selects mesh bodies.
    • Mesh Face Groups: Selects face groups on mesh bodies.
    • Mesh Faces: Selects faces on mesh bodies.
    • Sketch Curves: Selects sketch geometry.
    • Sketch Geometry Constraint: Selections sketch constraints.
    • Sketch Points: Selects sketch points.
    • Sketch Profiles: Selects sketch profiles.
    • T-Spline Body: Selects T-Spline bodies.
    • Text Selection: Selects sketch text.
    • Work Geometry: Selects construction planes, construction axes, and construction points.
  3. In the canvas, click to select individual objects or click and drag to select objects within a boundary.

The object types that are checked are selected. The object types that are unchecked are excluded from the selection.
