Use selection priority filters

Learn how to use selection priority filters to limit selection to components, bodies, faces, or edges in Fusion.

Select objects with component priority

  1. On the toolbar, click Select > Selection Priority > Select Component Priority select component priority icon.

    A checkmark displays on the Select Component Priority icon.

    The Components selection filter is checked, and all others are unchecked.

  2. In the canvas, click and drag to define a selection boundary around the objects you want to select.

The components are selected in the canvas and the Browser. All other object types are excluded from the selection.

Select objects with body priority

  1. On the toolbar, click Select > Selection Priority > Select Body Priority select body priority icon.

    A checkmark displays on the Select Body Priority icon.

    The Bodies selection filter is checked, and all others are unchecked.

  2. In the canvas, click and drag to define a selection boundary around the objects you want to select.

The solid and surface bodies are selected in the canvas and the Browser. All other object types are excluded from the selection.

Select objects with face priority

  1. On the toolbar, click Select > Selection Priority > Select Face Priority select face priority icon.

    A checkmark displays on the Select Face Priority icon.

    The Body Faces selection filter is checked, and all others are unchecked.

  2. In the canvas, click and drag to define a selection boundary around the objects you want to select.

The faces on solid and surface bodies are selected in the canvas and the Browser. All other object types are excluded from the selection.

Select objects with edge priority

  1. On the toolbar, click Select > Selection Priority > Select Edge Priority select edge priority icon.

    A checkmark displays on the Select Edge Priority icon.

    The Body Edges selection filter is checked, and all others are unchecked.

  2. In the canvas, click and drag to define a selection boundary around the objects you want to select.

The edges on solid and surface bodies are selected in the canvas and the Browser. All other object types are excluded from the selection.

Remove selection priority filtering

  1. On the toolbar, expand the Select > Selection Priority menu.
  2. Click the selection priority tool with the checkmark displayed on its icon.

The selection filters that were unchecked to apply the selection priority filter are restored.
