Create a primitive sphere

Learn how to use the Sphere command to create a solid body in the shape of a primitive sphere in Fusion.

sphere example

  1. On the toolbar, click Solid > Create > Sphere sphere icon.

  2. In the canvas, select a plane or planar face.

  3. Place the center point of the sphere.

    The Sphere dialog displays.

  4. Drag the Diameter manipulator handle in the canvas to adjust the size of the sphere, or specify an exact value.

  5. Select an Operation, and adjust its associated settings:

    • join icon Join: Combines the new body with an existing body.
    • cut icon Cut: Removes an area from an existing body.
      • Objects to Cut: Check or uncheck objects to cut.
    • intersect icon Intersect: Creates a body at the intersection of an existing body and the new body.
      • Objects to Cut: Check or uncheck objects to cut.
    • new body icon New Body: Creates a new body in the active component.
    • new component icon New Component: Creates a new body in a new component.
  6. Click OK.

The solid body displays in the canvas, in the shape of a primitive sphere.
