Flatten an area of a T-Spline body

Learn how to use the Flatten command to align vertices on a T-Spline body onto a single plane in Fusion.

Note: By default, Fusion bases this alignment on an average of the selected points.

flatten example

  1. In the Design workspace, Form contextual environment, select Modify > Flatten flatten icon.

  2. In the Flatten dialog, select the Direction type:

    • Fit
    • Select Plane: Select a plane.
    • Select Parallel Plane: Select a parallel plane.
  3. Select T-Spline Vertices on the body.

The more vertices you select, the flatter the body becomes.

Note: If you flatten linked tangency handles, they will unlink from their vertices.
  4. Select the Flatten Type from the dropdown menu:

    • Control Points

    • Surface Points

Note: Adjust the Display Mode to see the effect of each Straighten Type more easily. Use Box Display for Control Points and Smooth Display for Surface Points.
  5. Click OK.

The flattened area displays on the T-Spline body in the canvas.
