Create a T-Spline face
Learn how to use the Face command to create a new T-Spline face or append a face to an existing T-Spline body in Fusion.
In the Design workspace, Form contextual environment, select Create > Face .
The Face dialog displays.
In the Face dialog, select a Mode:
- Simple: Click to place each vertex.
- Edge: Select an edge to define the first two vertices.
- Chain: Select a series of connected edges.
Select a Number of Sides option:
- Four Sides
- Multiple Sides
In the canvas, select a plane, select an edge, or click an existing vertex.
Click to place additional vertices.
For the Multiple Sides option, click the first vertex to complete the face.
The face displays in the canvas.
Optional: Repeat steps 2-6 to create additional faces.
Click OK.
The faces you created display in the canvas.
Note: Check the Object Snap setting to snap new vertices to the closest snap points on existing solid, surface, or mesh bodies in the canvas. You can also adjust the Offset setting to offset the vertices a specific distance from the bodies you snap to.
Tips
- Create individual faces or a chain of faces.
- The different modes control what you select to create the face.Selecting corners of existing faces connects the faces.
- Turn on Object Snap to snap faces on the surface of a target body. Depending on the amount of curvature on the target, you may need to create a higher number of small faces to obtain the desired detail.Enter an offset value to create the face a distance off the target and create layered bodies.
