Use text commands to export Shared rules from your hub to a JSON file and import them again later. This is useful when you need a backup before a hub merge, or when you want to copy hub standards to another hub after merge.
The Sheet Metal Rules Library does not include Export or Import in the UI. Text commands are the supported way to back up and restore hub library rules.
When two hubs merge, shared sheet metal rules on the destination hub are removed. Only shared rules from the source hub remain in the combined hub.
If the destination hub has shared rules you need to keep, export them to a file before you start the merge. After the merge finishes, you can import the file into the destination hub to restore those rules. See Merge Fusion hubs.
In Fusion, open a design in the hub whose Shared rules you want to back up.
Show the Text Commands console.
In the Text Commands line, enter the export command with the full path to a JSON file on your computer.
SheetMetal.ExportHubLibrary "D:/rules.json"
Use forward slashes or escaped backslashes in the path. Enclose the path in double quotation marks.
Press Enter.
When the export succeeds, the console reports how many hub library rules were exported and the file path, for example: Exported 4 hub library rules to: D:\rules.json.
In Fusion, open a design in the hub where you want to add Shared rules.
Show the Text Commands console.
In the Text Commands line, enter the import command with the full path to your JSON file.
SheetMetal.ImportHubLibrary "D:/rules.json"
Press Enter.
When the import succeeds, the console reports how many hub library rules were imported, for example: Imported 4 hub library rules from: D:\rules.json.
Open Modify > Sheet Metal Rules Library
and select Shared rules to confirm the rules appear in the list.
