Element Deletion Criteria dialog

The Element Deletion Criteria dialog allows you to define a criterion that must be met for mesh elements to be deleted in an Event Simulation study.

To access this dialog, click (Simulation workspace > Setup tab > Manage panel > Element Deletion).

Body Selection

The body or bodies whose elements can be deleted.

In the canvas, select at least one body.

Deletion Criteria

The criterion that defines when elements are deleted.

• Negative Volume: Deletes elements if volume becomes negative.
• Effective Strain: Deletes elements if von Mises strain exceeds the specified Value.
• Equivalent Plastic Strain: Deletes elements if the equivalent plastic strain exceeds the specified Value.
• Principal Strain: Deletes elements if the maximum principal strain exceeds the specified Value.
