The prescribed movement constraints are used in Event Simulation analyses to move the model components by a specified amount, in a specified direction(s). The direction of this movement is determined by the axes you select. The distance of the movement is determined by the values you enter for the vector components.
There are two prescribed motion constraints in Event Simulation:
Constraint | Notes | |
---|---|---|
Prescribed rotation | - Used to define rotational motion. - Can be applied only to rigid bodies. |
|
Prescribed translation | - Used to define linear motion - Can be applied to faces, edges, vertices, or rigid bodies |
You can select from 1 to 3 directions; X, Y, and Z. The options for vector specification are activated based on your selection.
The magnitude of the displacement is specied using vector components.
