Create lines in a sketch
Learn how to use the Line command to series of connected straight or arc line segments in an active sketch in Fusion.
- On the Sketch contextual tab, select Create > Line .
- In the canvas, click to place the first end point.
- Specify the length and angle of the line segment:
- Click to place the second point.
- Or specify the length and angle values, then click to place the second point.
- Continue placing points:
- Repeat step 3 to create additional straight line segments.
- Pause over a point, then click and drag to create arc line segments.
- Complete the line:
- Click the start point to create a closed sketch profile.
- Click the Check icon .
- Optional: Repeat steps 2-5 to create another line.
- Press
Enter
to complete the command.
The lines, and any construction geometry, constraints, and dimensions that are added to them, display in the canvas.
Tips
- You can pause over an end point, then click and drag to create an arc segment that is tangent to the previous line segment. Move the mouse to the opposite side of the line segment to flip the direction of the arc.
- You can specify a radius before you create additional line segments.
- As you move the mouse cursor, object snap symbols display near the geometry when you snap to the sketch grid or other geometry in the design. If you snap to a specific point, the logical constraints are automatically added to the sketch.
