Lines in sketches

The line tools in the Sketch > Create panel let you create lines as sketch geometry or construction geometry in an active sketch in Fusion.

You can use the following tools to create lines in an active sketch:

Note: Before you can create sketch geometry, you must use the Create Sketch tool create sketch icon to create a new sketch or right-click an existing sketch and select Edit Sketch to enter the Sketch contextual environment.

Line

The Line tool creates a series of connected lines and arcs in the active sketch.

You click to place the first point, then click to place a second point to define the first line segment. Continue clicking to place additional line segments, or click and drag to create connected arc segments.

In the Sketch Palette dialog, in the Feature Options section, you can switch between Line types while the Line tool is active, without returning to the toolbar.

Midpoint Line

The Midpoint Line tool creates a line that is symmetrical from a midpoint you specify in the active sketch.

You click to place the midpoint, then specify the length and angle of the line segment to place each end of the line.

For step-by-step instructions, see Create midpoint lines in a sketch.
