Create input nodes for any data sources you want to use in your expressions. These can be constant values, sensors, or the output of other analytics (virtual sensors).
Note: If you created the analytic from a template, you just need to fill in the missing data sources and values for the pre-configured input nodes.
Data source
To create a data source input node
- In the Configuration tab, select + Data Source.
- Enter a Data Source name.
- Provide a meaningful description
- Select a data source. You can choose
Sensors or
Simulation.
Note: When you select a
Simulation as the source type, an additional field appears. This field allows you to refine and narrow down the available simulation output fields. You do this by selecting values such as
Analysis Group,
Simulation,
Model Element Type,
Output Type,
Object ID helping you identify the specific simulation output you want to use.
- Select a series type.
- Enter the
Expected Unit for the data source.
- Click Create.
Once you've added the node, you can check the data that will be used in the analytic by selecting
View Chart.
Constant Value
To create a constant value input node
- In the Configuration tab, click + Constant Value.
- Enter a name, a value and the unit.
- If you want to create a time series data stream from this constant value, mark the checkbox.
This may be useful if you want to configure a calculation that does not use a sensor.
The interval used for the time series is the one set in the related output node.
- Click Create.
