Create an Analytic

Create analytics to perform calculations with your sensor data. You can then add charts with the results to a workspace.

Process overview

1. Create an analytic (a blank canvas or from a template). See below.
2. Create or configure input nodes (data sources or constant values)
3. Create output nodes (your mathematical or logical expressions)
4. Make sure the nodes are connected correctly.
5. Run the calculation.
   You can also set up the analytic to auto-calculate at a given interval. Click the drop-down arrow beside Calculate to set this up.

   
6. You can then review the results and add the chart to a workspace from the Calculated Result tab.

To create a new analytic

1. Go to Tools Analytics.
2. Click Add New Analytic.
3. Choose between a blank canvas or one of the available analytic templates.
4. Enter a Name and Description.
5. Select a time range to define the data to be included in the calculation. If you select to Present, each time the analytic is calculated, the latest available data will be used.
6. Click OK.
