To update your InfraWorks model with changes to an Autodesk Civil 3D drawing

Objects brought into your InfraWorks model from an Autodesk Civil 3D DWG drawing can be updated to reflect changes in the Autodesk Civil 3D source drawing.

If your InfraWorks model is linked to a local Autodesk Civil 3D DWG drawing, use the Reimport command to update the Autodesk Civil 3D DWG drawing in your InfraWorks model and reflect design modifications you have already made to the drawing in Autodesk Civil 3D.

Note: If you added Autodesk Civil 3D drawing objects to your InfraWorks model using an IMX file that you exported from Autodesk Civil 3D, the Reimport command is not available. Instead, you can delete the IMX file data source from the InfraWorks Data Sources panel, export a newer version of the IMX file data source from Autodesk Civil 3D, and manually re-import the newer version into InfraWorks.

To update your InfraWorks model with changes to the linked Autodesk Civil 3D DWG file

  1. Click glyph Manage glyph Content data sources (Data Sources) to open the Data Sources panel if it is not already open.

  2. Right-click on the Autodesk Civil 3D DWG file data source.

  3. Select Reimport from the right-click menu. Note: Be careful not to confuse the Reimport command with the Refresh tool.

Unlike the Reimport command, Refresh re-reads data currently stored in the model. You need to refresh sourced data whenever you change how the model is using sourced data.
