To change spiral length in a horizontal curve group

Change the spiral length for a horizontal curve group in a component road.

  1. Select the component road. The spiral curve displays on the centerline alignment of the roadway. The curve radius displays on the centerline in green, with a bracket representing the spiral curve radius length. Spiral In and Spiral Out are displayed in a pink-purple color.

Note: If curve radius violates design geometry, the curve radius will instead be displayed in yellow. Spiral In and Spiral Out will also be displayed in orange-yellow if the values violate permitted design geometry.
Note: With Show Road Geometry enabled, in-canvas labels display points of change to horizontal spiral-curve-spiral geometry for tangents, spiral curve, and circular curves. These labels include a non-configurable prefix for your reference. See About Annotations for Component Roads for more information.
  2. You can click on the centerline alignment once more to view in-canvas labels for curve radius, curve length, and A values for Spiral In and Spiral Out dimensions. Note: Click directly on an A value label or curve radius label in-canvas and input new values to modify it.

  3. Click and drag the curve radius or point of tangency control grips to change the curve length and radius. See About Horizontal Manipulators for more information on control grips.

  4. You can also modify Curve Radius, Spiral In and Spiral Out Length, as well as Spiral In and Spiral Out A Values in-canvas. Note: When you modify an editable spiral curve value such as Spiral In Length, yellow warnings display if the value you input violates roadway design standard. Click the yello-highlighted parameter to view permitted values.
