Save reference edits

You can save reference edits if you want the edits to permanently exist in the referenced file. When saved, the edits are propagated to all users of the reference's original file.

Before saving the edits, you can view them to ensure you want them permanently applied to the original referenced file. See List reference edits.

To save reference edits

1. Do one of the following:
   • In the Outliner, right-click the reference node or referenced object and select Reference > Save Edits.
   • In the Reference Editor, right-click the reference and select File > Save Reference Edits from the menu that appears.

The reference edits are applied to the referenced file.
