This topic covers the options in the
UV Editor
Textures menu. To learn about UV mapping, see the links in the
Creating UVs topic.
To open the UV Editor Textures menu
- In the Modeling menu set (F2), select
Note: The
UV Editor and the
UV Set Editor are two different tools. The
UV Editor lets you interactively edit UV texture coordinates within a 2D view and the
UV Set Editor lets you create and edit UV sets for
multiple polygon meshes at the same time.
Select which image texture to show in the
UV Editor. Select an image from the drop-down list that appears, or apply a temporary
Checker Map to all shells.
- Checker Map
- Applies a checker map pattern to all shells in the
UV Editor. See
Apply the checker pattern shader to a UV mesh for how to do this.
- Color Mode
- Determines how the checker map is shaded.
- 2-Color: Each box is based on two alternating colors,
Checker 1 and
Checker 2. You can also add an additional gradient (Gradient Overlay) running from the bottom-left to top-right. This is handy on patterned textures, when you want to determine which end of the texture is on what side of the model.
- Multi-Color: Colors all boxes along a multi-colored gradient.
- Size
- Determines the resolution of the checker map.
Note: You can also adjust the
Size at any time by pressing Ctrl + Up or Ctrl + Down when the
Checker Map is visible.
- Tile Labels
- Displays an automatic ID for the various checker map tiles overtop of the checker map.
- Color
- Determines the color that the
Tile Labels appear in.
