Combine multiple meshes into one object

You can combine two or more meshes into one polygon object using the Combine Meshes feature. The Combine Meshes command assembles the meshes as polygon shells in the new polygon mesh node that gets created. The topology of the combined meshes is not modified in any other way.

In general, merging meshes together object increases performance. The more unique objects in your scene, the more time is needed to compute the mesh.

To combine two or more polygon meshes into one mesh

  1. Shift-select the meshes you want to combine into a single object.
  2. Select Combine Meshes from the Mesh menu, or use the + (plus sign) hotkey.
The meshes are merged together into a new polygon mesh node.
    Note:
    • The new mesh takes the name of the first mesh selected. For example, if you select Car and then Wheels, the new object's name is Car. (The other meshes are deleted.)
    • The new mesh takes the pivot position of the first object selected.
