You can merge layer masks into a parent paint layer or merge them with other layer masks.
- Layer masks must be visible to be merged. You can temporarily turn off any layer masks you don't want to merge using the layer mask Visibility setting.
- Layer masks are merged from the bottom up, which means if you have multiple layer masks associated with a paint layer, the order of the layer masks is important. If the layer masks have different blend modes, re-ordering the layer masks, or merging some, but not all of the layer masks associated with a paint layer could produce a different visual effect.
To merge selected layer masks
- Ensure that the Visibility setting is turned on for each mask you want to merge.
- Right-click a paint layer mask and select Merge Visible.
All selected paint layers and paint layer masks that are visible are merged.
