Normally while creating a nesting study or editing a nest, you should select
Automatically Calculate Nest in the dialog box you are using. This calculates the nest as soon as you click
OK, and all you have to do is then save the results to see your nest. However, in some cases, you might want to deselect this option so that you can initiate the calculations manually after the nest is created. Since a separate nest is created for every type of material, this enables you to control when each nest is calculated and see how long each calculation takes. A Ready To Calculate icon (
), both in the
Inventor Nesting browser and the Calculate Nest panel, indicates that a nest has yet to be calculated.
Calculate Nests
Do one of the following.
- Right-click a nest in the Inventor Nesting browser or the Calculate Nest panel and select Start.
- Click Start All
at the bottom of the Calculate Nest panel to calculate all nests.
Stop or Cancel Calculations
You can stop (abort) calculations that are occurring or cancel (undo) calculations that have occurred.
- Right-click a nest in the Inventor Nesting browser or the Calculate Nest panel and select Stop or Cancel.
- Click Stop All
or Cancel All
at the bottom of the Calculate Nest panel.
