When a classification is deleted, the items contained within it are then classified according to the parent class. Any fields that are not inherited from the parent classes; that is, fields that are unique to the class being deleted, are removed from the items that belong to the class. The sub-classes are promoted to the deleted parent's level.
Select the classification to delete from the Classifications tree.
Note: The root classification node cannot be deleted.
Click Actions >Delete.
You are prompted to confirm removing the selected classification. Click Delete.
Note An alternative to deleting a classification is to create a classification named Trash and then move unused classifications into Trash.
