To Assign a Section Using the Direct Mode

1. Click Model Attributes Sections.
2. Ensure that the Direct assignment mode is selected.
3. In the Section panel:
   • Select a material for the section.
   • Select a section, or select Add New to create a new one.

     Optionally, click if you want to edit the current section properties.

4. In the drawing area, click to select a column, beam, or bar.

   You can select one linear element at a time.

The section is assigned to the element.

To Assign a Section Using the Selection Mode

1. Click Model Attributes Sections.
2. Select the Selection assignment mode.
3. In the drawing area, select elements.
4. In the Section panel:
   • Select a material for the section.
   • Select a section, or select Add New to create a new one.

     Optionally, click if you want to edit the current section properties.

The section is assigned to linear elements in your selection.

Note: If you change the assignment mode from Selection to Direct, it cancels your selection in the drawing area.
