A release is a set of properties saved under a label (name). Use the Release dialog to add and edit these sets of release properties.
You can define the following support types using this dialog:
- Bars. Use it to specify a rigid release for the displacement or rotation direction at nodes of a linear element.
- Elastic. Use it specify an elastic release for the displacement or rotation direction at nodes of a linear element. You specify the elastic coefficient or partial stiffness coefficient to define the elasticity at nodes.

- To access the
Release dialog:
- Select Model
Attributes
Releases.
- On the Release tab, perform one of the following actions:
- Click the
icon next to the thickness list.
- Expand the release list, and select Add New...
- Click the
