You can change the units of measurement for dimensions, forces, as well as other measurements such as temperatures, weights, and so on.
- Click
Options.
- Click
+ to expand the
Units and Formats section in the Options dialog.
- Click the type of measurement that you want to edit:
Dimensions,
Forces or
Other.
- For each measurement, specify a unit, and then use the arrow keys to specify the number of decimal places for the unit.
- If required, click
E to switch between decimal and exponential formatting.
- Click
OK.
To Change the Units for Moments and Stresses
Moments and stresses require a force combined with a length or area. These units are set up under the Forces section.
- Click
Forces in the
Units and Formats section of the Options dialog.
- To change the Moment units:
- Click
... to open the Moment Unit dialog.
- Select a
Force unit
and a
Length unit, and then click
OK.
- To change the Stresses units:
- Click
... to open the Stress Unit dialog.
- Select a
Force unit
and an
Area unit, and then click
OK.
- Use the arrow keys to specify the number of decimal places for the unit.
- If required, click
E to switch between decimal and exponential formatting.
- Click
OK.
