Add and manage QA process relationships

The Relationships () tab is where you link a quality assurance (QA) process to another QA process or another requirement. You may specify how the QA processes/requirements depend on each other. This enables you to follow up on other QA processes/requirements that depend on one you've just completed.

Note: You cannot create relationships to requirement tasks or QA tasks.

To add a relationship:

From the list of QA processes, select the QA process to which you want to create a relationship.
Open the Relationships () tab.
Click Add.
From the first drop-down list, select the option that specifies how the QA processes is linked to the other QA process/requirement.
In the box beside the drop-down list, begin typing the name of the QA process or requirement you want to link this QA process to.

A list of matching QA processes/requirements is shown.
Click the QA process/requirement you want to link to.
Click Add.

The relationship is added and shows the status of the linked QA process/requirement.

Repeat the above steps to add more than one relationship to a QA process.

Note:

The relationship you added here is unidirectional, meaning the same relationship does not appear on the QA process/requirement you linked here. You would need to manually add the relationship going the other way.
Upchain does not enforce these dependencies. It is up to you to specify the relationships and then follow through with them as you work through the QA process list.

Remove a relationship

From the list of QA processes, select the QA process from which you want to remove a relationship.
Open the Relationships () tab.
Beside the relationship you want to remove, click Delete ().

The relationship is removed.
