PDF viewer functionality overview

The PDF viewer opens to the first page of the document you chose to open. The PDF viewer provides many tools to manipulate the view of the PDF, create detailed markups, and send the document to a specified user through an investigation request (IR).

The main header provides information about the document and buttons to download the document and create an IR. All other tools are at the bottom of the page in the main tools menu.

Main header

The main header shows the name of the document, the date it was uploaded into Upchain, the name of the person who uploaded the document, and the status of the document.

Use the page left page left and page right page right buttons, or type in a page number to navigate between pages in the document. You may also use the following keyboard shortcuts to navigate between pages:

Click Home (home icon) in the top-right corner to return the document to the default zoom level and orientation at any time.

Use these functions to adjust the view of the document.

Document analysis and interactions

Use these functions to create markups, measure, navigate to each page of the document, and select text from the document to copy and paste elsewhere.

Markup

This menu provides tools to draw freehand, add text, callouts, shapes, and arrows, as well as adjust the size, color and opacity of each object. When adding a new markup object, an additional floating menu opens to enable you to adjust these settings as you go. When you are finished creating a markup, you may save it to the list of markups, take a snapshot image of the markup to use elsewhere, or create an investigation request. This menu provides a number of tools to measure various aspects of your document.

Document Browser

The Document Browser lists all pages within your document and shows a thumbnail of each page. Use this tool to switch between pages.

Select Text

This tool enables you to select text from the document. Once highlighted, you may copy the text to paste it elsewhere, such as a document open on your computer.

Document settings

Use these functions to configure how to view and interact with the document. Your settings are saved automatically and are applied for every subsequent document you open, until you change them or restore them to their default settings.
