Work with documents in the PDF viewer

The Upchain PDF viewer enables you to view documents directly within the web application without needing to download and view them in a separate program. The PDF viewer supports PDFs as well as a variety of additional file formats. Refer to this topic for a full list of supported formats.

Furthermore, the PDF viewer enables you to annotate, measure, download, print, and create investigation requests related to a document, to effectively communicate required changes to the appropriate members of your team.

Current limitations and known issues

• DWG files created by SOLIDWORKS are not viewable.
• Chinese, Japanese, and Korean characters do not appear correctly when sending the document to an investigation request (IR) or downloading the markup as a PDF.
• Signatures in legacy markups are not displayed in the downloaded XFDF file.
• You may view DXF, DGN, and DWG files in the PDF viewer and create markups, but you cannot create an IR or download the markups as a PDF file.
• Cloud and polycloud annotations are converted to rectangles and lines when the markup is downloaded or attached to an IR.
• After browsing through multiple pages, you might occasionally see several instances of the Markup Browsing Panel. You can address this issue by refreshing the page or closing the panels individually.
