Issue:
When running an Autodesk product, its splash screen appears showing Loading... and then closes with no error message.Causes:
Compromised product license trusted storage files.
Compromised graphics drivers.
Cloud storage apps running backup in the background.
Solution:
Verify that up to date Autodesk Licensing Service Updates are installed:
Autodesk Licensing Service Updates
Verify that the Licensing service is running:
Access the Windows Run box.
Type Services.msc and press Enter.
Search for "FLEXnet Licensing Service" or "FLEXnet Licensing Service 64."
Make sure that the services are started and running (if disabled they prevent the program from starting).
Confirm firewall is not blocking the program from checking the license:
Naviggate to Control Panel\System and Security\Windows Defender Firewall\Allowed apps, and select:
Change Settings.
- Select "Allow another app..."
- C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Inventor <version> \Bin\<product>.exe
Inspect the contents of productname201xENUAdlm.log:
Navigate to C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\ADLM.
Note: You may need to enable 'Show hidden Files' to see adskflex files mentioned previously. Refer to the Microsoft topic, Show hidden files, for more information.
Find the following file: C:\ProgramData\FLEXnet\adskflex_*_tsf.data
Search for the following errors:
Reason=Fatal error ComputerName=COMPUTER OS=5.1.2600.Service Pack 2 File=AdlmIntSATSLicense.cpp,Line=1150 AdlmIntError=38 [Error getting license usage and behavior]
Reason=Fatal error ComputerName=COMPUTER OS=5.1.2600.Service Pack 3 File=AdlmIntSATSLicense.cpp,Line=347 VendorID=2 [ADLMACT] VendorError=101 [The license cannot be accessed/loaded/opened]
Note: These errors indicate that the AdLM trusted storage file was corrupted when the program crashed.
- Rename the following file by adding a .bak extension at the end of the file name:
Note: This file contains all activations for all 2010 and later products. All products will need to be re-registered if this file is renamed/deleted.
- Restart the program. Doing this should automatically re-register and start up as expected. A new adskflex_*_tsf.data file will be created when you re-register your product.
Update the graphics card driver:
Install the latest driver for the graphics card in the computer (see How to update to the latest certified video driver for Autodesk software). For Windows 7 systems in particular, an older video driver may include an older version of OpenGL. The licensing/login component uses Qt by default. Qt checks the OpenGL drivers. If the system has OpenGL 1.2 or older, Qt will load the ANGLE library instead of the OpenGL library. Installing the latest graphics driver should update OpenGL. However, with an older OpenGL, it is possible to adjust system variables in Windows:
- QT_OPENGL=angle
- QT_ANGLE_PLATFORM=warp
If the steps given do not help, disable hardware acceleration using /nohardware switch:
Starting AutoCAD without hardware video acceleration
Uninstall the product:
If problems are persisting, the license file may be corrupt. To resolve:
- Uninstall ALL Autodesk products on the machine.
- Delete the tsf.data file from C:\ProgramData\FLEXnet\.
- Delete the Productinfromation.pit file from C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\ADLM\ProductInformation.pit
- Reinstall the program.
Corrupted user account:
Create and test a user with no group polices assigned.
Disable the backup or close the cloud storage apps activity, Move backup folder to a different drive on the machine or change the sync time to off business hours in settings.
