Block Generate with AI

Block Generate with AI turns a plain-language description into an editable block, so you don't have to draw the geometry yourself or search a block library.

Describe the object you need. For example, type in "round table with four chairs" and it creates editable block geometry that you can insert, modify, and reuse like any other block.

Note: To enable Block Generate with AI, Tech Preview must be turned on. Results may vary, and the feature may change as we continue to develop it.

To generate a block

  1. Click the Blocks tab.
  2. Click Generate with AI.
  3. In the description field, enter a natural language description of the block you want.
  4. Review the generated result.
  5. To iterate, describe the details you'd like to refine.
  6. When you're ready to use the block, click Insert in drawing.

The generated block is editable. You can move, scale, rotate, and modify it the same way you would any other block.

To create a different block

When you create a new block, click New chat first. This keeps context from your previous block from following into your new block.

Tips for writing effective prompts

  • Name the object clearly and include its key components (for example, "table" plus "four chairs").
  • Specify quantities or shape when they matter ("round," "four").
  • When describing something complex, break up the instructions into multiple parts. Keep each turn focused on a single object or aspect.
  • If the result isn't what you expected, click New chat to start over.
Note: Because Block Generate with AI is experimental, generated geometry may need manual adjustment.
