AutoCAD Updates

These release notes contain important information regarding the installation and contents of the Update.
.NET 10: Due to potential compatibility issues introduced by .NET 10 in AutoCAD 2026.1.2, the corresponding updates for the specialized toolsets must also be installed. In addition to updating installed products, you might need to update any object enablers installed for AutoCAD 2026 if you work with drawings created in the following products:
- AutoCAD Plant 3D
- Autodesk Advance Steel
- Autodesk Civil 3D
- Autodesk Fabrication CADmep
Updated object enablers can be downloaded from the Autodesk Account portal under Products and services > Available downloads > Plug-ins. If you use a third-party application that relies on an object enabler, contact the application vendor for an updated version.
What's New in AutoCAD 2026
Applying Updates
AutoCAD Updates can be applied to AutoCAD, including specialized toolsets installed as standalone applications, as well as Autodesk Civil 3D and Autodesk Advance Steel. Install the AutoCAD Update along with any applicable updates for the products and their included services listed below.
- AutoCAD 2026
- AutoCAD Architecture 2026 toolset
- AutoCAD Electrical 2026 toolset
- AutoCAD Map 3D 2026 toolset
- AutoCAD Mechanical 2026 toolset
- AutoCAD MEP 2026 toolset
- AutoCAD Plant 3D 2026 toolset
- Autodesk Advance Steel 2026
- Autodesk Civil 3D 2026
After applying this update, the product version displayed in the About box will be W.179.0.0 AutoCAD 2026.1.2. For specialized toolsets, Autodesk Civil 3D, and Autodesk Advance Steel, the Built On version will also display as W.179.0.0 AutoCAD 2026.1.2.
Available Updates
- You cannot uninstall the Update. To remove the update, you must first uninstall AutoCAD and then reinstall the product.
- Due to framework limitations, the latest version of Microsoft® Visual Basic® for Applications software (VBA) cannot be installed over an existing installation. To install the latest VBA module, you must first uninstall the current version. For more information, visit https://www.autodesk.com/vba-download.
