Installation Changes in This Release

AutoCAD 2026

Option Added

The Trusted Domain Names option has been added to the Deployment Custom configuration.

Option Changed

The Custom Profile option now supports the ability to add multiple ARG files to the Deployment Custom configuration.

Microsoft Access 365 Runtime (x64)

The AutoCAD Electrical toolset installer no longer includes the Microsoft Access Database Engine 2016 Redistributable component. As a result, this component is not installed automatically if Microsoft Office is not present on your machine.

Download and install Microsoft Access 365 Runtime (x64) or later, unless you already have Microsoft Office 2016 (x64) or a later version installed.

Note: AutoCAD Electrical toolset does not support installation on systems with 32-bit Microsoft Office or 365 applications.

AutoCAD 2025

Option Removed

The Trusted Domain Names is obsolete and has been removed from the Deployment Custom configuration.

Inventor Interoperability Component Installation

The Inventor Interoperability component in AutoCAD Mechanical toolset is now available for installation on-demand.

AutoCAD 2024

AutoCAD LT Security Options

Security settings have been added for online deployment for AutoCAD LT. With these security settings you can control the restrictions for running executable files in AutoCAD LT.

Option Removed

The Allow access to Autodesk Account from within Autodesk product is obsolete and has been removed from the Deployment Custom configuration.

Autodesk Access

A new desktop update experience saves you time updating your product software and replaces the Autodesk desktop app (ADA). Autodesk Access gives users and administrators more control over their product updates.

Note: Autodesk Access is not available on Mac.

Inventor Interoperability Component Installation on Demand

The Inventor Interoperability component, formerly known as Inventor Server, is needed for model documentation in AutoCAD. In previous releases of AutoCAD, this component was installed by default. Starting in AutoCAD 2024, you are prompted to install the Inventor Interoperability component when it is needed, such as the first time a model documentation command is used, when an Inventor file is imported, or when opening a drawing created by the AutoCAD Mechanical toolset.

This results in a performance improvement for a majority of users when installing AutoCAD since the Inventor Interoperability component is no longer a part of the installation. For more information about Model Documentation, see About Model Documentation and Commands for Working with Model Documentation Drawing Views.

Note: The Inventor Interoperability component is installed by default with the AutoCAD Mechanical toolset.

AutoCAD 2023

Compatible profile file (.arg)

With AutoCAD 2023 Custom Install configuration, you can specify an .arg file not only from the current release, but also from the previous releases AutoCAD 2022 and AutoCAD 2021 releases.

Migrate custom settings

In AutoCAD 2023, an Install and Deployment configuration is added to enable Migrate Custom Settings during Install and Deployment time. When the configuration is selected, the Migrate Custom Settings Utility is launched to guide users to migrate any settings and files from a previous release.

Note: these changes apply to Windows only.
