Home Tab

Use the Home tab to complete major workflow items like importing, material characterization, and results mapping.

The Home tab contains the following panels.

Information Pairing Panel

Part Mapping

Pair Moldflow and structural models.

Material Model Panel

Select the type of analysis to be run.

Elastic-Plastic

Perform an analysis using the elastic-plastic material model.

Linear Elastic

Perform an analysis using the linear elastic material model.

Preview Panel

Compare the two imported models and review material properties.

Mapping Suitability Plot

View the two imported models and review how well the Moldflow results are represented on the structural mesh. If either model needs refinement, you may re-mesh or re-import. If you refine the Moldflow mesh, you must also perform the analysis again prior to importing into Advanced Material Exchange. This process can be repeated until you are satisfied with the two meshes.

Material Data

Preview and edit any material data before proceeding with the mapping. View or modify the description, mechanical properties, filler properties, stress-strain data, and mechanical model.

Mapping Panel

Map the results from the Moldflow model to the structural model.

Map Results

Map fiber orientations, residual stress, and thermal expansion coefficients to the structural model.

Assembly Panel

Edit

Switch the active display to another mapped pair.

Display

Edit an existing mapped pair.

View Results Panel

Examine results of the mapping.

Mesh View

View the meshed model.

Fiber Orientation

View the fiber orientations throughout the model.

Residual Strain

View a contour plot of the residual strain.

Weld Surfaces

View a contour plot of the strength reduction factor for each point on the weld surface.

Export Panel

Send the results to the structural analysis tool for further simulations.

Settings

Specify the settings of the analysis. Settings include Output Warpage, Output Weld Surfaces, and Enable Rupture.

Export to Structural Package

Create an input file for use with Ansys. The input file will be generated automatically to include the results of the mapping and material characterization from Advanced Material Exchange, as well as the loads and boundary conditions of the imported model.
