CATIA and FBX Import Improvements (2025)
We've added the Replace Shaders by Name option to CATIA V5 and FBX file format imports. This option works the same way with these formats as it does with .wire file imports. Replace Shaders by Name allows you to replace incoming shaders with shaders that are in the currently set User Library Location.
Replace Shader by Name only works with shaders that have the same name. By default, when you import objects, any incoming shaders having the same names as an existing shader get renamed by appending a # suffix to its name. This avoids name clashes between shaders. You can instead merge incoming shaders with existing shaders that have the same base-name by turning on Ignore # Suffixes.
