- In the mechanical browser, right-click the component view of the component node you want to nest the new component under, and select New
Component.
- Press Enter to accept the default component name or enter a new name.
- Press Enter to accept the default component view name or enter a different name. Note: The default component view names are set up in the AM:Structure tab of the Options dialog box.
- In model space, select the objects you want to add to the new component view and press Enter, or press Enter (without selecting anything) to create an empty component view. Tip:
- To select an elemental geometry, continue clicking the object until you see the name of the geometry in the tooltip window.
- To select a folder, continue clicking an object that belongs to the folder, until you see its name in the tooltip window.
- In model space, click to set the base point for the component view. A new component is created and displayed in the browser, directly under the node you right-clicked in step 1.
