To Quickly Create a Part When the Geometry Already Exists (AutoCAD Mechanical Toolset)

  1. Click Structure tabBuild panelQuick Component. Find

    You now have a new component with default names and basepoint at 0,0,0.

  2. On the mechanical browser, right-click the newly created component, select Rename and provide a name as appropriate.
  3. On the mechanical browser, right-click the view, select Rename, and provide a name as appropriate.
  4. On the mechanical browser, right-click the view and select Activate.
  5. Click Structure tabEdit Structure panelAdd. Find
  6. Click geometry to add to the component view and press enter.
  7. Click Structure tabChange Basepoint. Find
  8. Click the point to use as the basepoint.
  9. Click Structure tabBuild panelQuick View. Find
  10. Repeat steps 3 through 9 until all component views have been created.
  11. Double-click the root node (drawing name) in the mechanical browser.
