About Layer Key Styles and Layer Keys

Each layer standard has a corresponding layer key style. A layer key style contains a set of layer keys. The layer keys assign objects to defined layers with names that conform to the layer standard. When you add an object to your drawing, the software automatically draws the object on the layer assigned to it in the current layer key style. This process is called layer keying.
