Track Assets in Models
In the Files tool, you can visually track assets that you created from models. You can easily update their statuses and understand when assets may be falling behind or holding up other assets.
In the Files tool, open a model that you have created assets from.
Click the Assets tab
on the left navigation.
The Assets panel opens, and displays a list of all the assets in the model you have selected. The assets in the model become colorized based on their status.
In the panel, you can:
Search
to search assets by name.
Filter
. Select from the drop-down lists to filter the assets by status, location, category, systems, or custom fields, and then click Done.
Your asset list updates accordingly and the assets that don't match the filter criteria become transparent in the model.
Isolate assets
. Select this option to make any components not identified as assets transparent in the model. Click again to show all components.
Select an asset from the list or from the model. The asset is highlighted in the panel and the model, and its details appear in a panel on the right.
Tip: If you select an asset in the model but don't see the details in the panel on the right, use the Viewing toolbar > Settings option> Configuration tab to change your Selection Mode. You can choose from Leaf Object, First Object, and Last Object to enable selection of objects at different levels of the model.
Click into any field to edit asset information or update its status.
Switch to the References tab to add and remove references. You can add photos, videos, forms, issues, submittals, and other references to an asset to connect all relevant information to an asset.
- To add, click Add references. Select any of the project items from the list and add accordingly.
- To remove, hover over the reference and click
.
