Selecting the Projection and Crossing Properties command opens the Projections and Crossings Tab of the Section View Properties dialog box.
Use this tab to control the display of crossings and projections in a section view and to change styles and elevation settings.
When you click a row, the object is highlighted in the drawing. Right-click a row to access commands for zooming and panning to the object and removing the object from the section view.
If no objects are projected in the section view, then this tab is not displayed in the dialog box.
- To specify the same setting for all of the objects of an object type, you can use the <set all> option.
- To specify the same setting for a selection of objects of an object type, you can select the objects using Shift+click or Ctrl+click and then click in one of the selected cells to change the setting.
- Object Type

Displays the names and categories of objects that are displayed in the current section view.
To hide a crossing or projection for an object in the section view, click the check box under Draw Crossings or Draw Projections
to clear it
. The object remains in the list and you can select the check boxes to show the object again in the section view.
To permanently remove an object from the section view, right-click its name in the list and click Remove.
Note: You can remove multiple objects at a time from the section view by holding down the Shift or Ctrl key while selecting their names, and then right-clicking and selecting Remove.
- Draw Crossings
- Specifies whether a marker is added to the section view to indicate where an object crosses a sample line. If a selected object does not actually cross the sample line, or is not within the specified crossing tolerance value, a crossing is not drawn on the section view.
- Crossing Marker Style

Specifies the crossing marker style. Click <set all> for a category to specify the style for all objects of the category.
Note: When you project AutoCAD solids to section views, and choose to display crossings, the solid can be drawn so that it represents the actual position of where the sample line crosses the solid. To display this type of crossing for a solid, select <Section> as the crossing marker style. You can control the appearance of 3D solid crossings that use the <Section> style option by modifying the properties of the 3D solid layer. - Crossing Label Style

- Draw Projections

Specifies whether projections are added to the section views.
Note: 3D polylines, feature lines, and survey figures can be displayed as crossings, but not as projections. The Draw Projections, Projection Style, and Projection Label Style columns in the dialog box are grayed out for these object types. - Projection Style

- Elevation Options

Specifies how the elevation of each object is determined.
- Use Object: The elevation is read from the object properties.
- Surface: The object is set to the elevation of a selected surface.
- Manual: The object is set to the elevation specified in the Elevation Value column.
- <set all>: Used at the category level to specify the elevation option for all projected objects in the category.
- Elevation Value

Specifies the actual elevation of the projected object when the Elevation Options property is set to Manual. Click <set all> for a category to specify an elevation for all objects of the category that are set to the Manual Elevation Options property.
Displays the elevation value for the object when the Elevation Options property is set to Use Object or a surface.
Pick Objects

Click to select objects in the drawing and add them to the section view.
