To connect to the SQL Server database

  1. Make sure that SQL Server Services are running and you have your authentication credentials available.
  2. Start the Setup application.

    Click Start menu > Programs > Autodesk > Autodesk Infrastructure Administrator (version) > Autodesk Industry Model Setup.

  3. Under 1. Connect To Enterprise Industry Model, specify your industry model type as Microsoft SQL Server.
  4. Specify whether to use Windows or SQL Server authentication.

    Microsoft suggests using Windows authentication, if possible.

  5. If you are using SQL Server authentication, enter a user name and password.
  6. For Server Name, enter the server that will host the MAPSYS database.
  7. Click Next to establish the connection.
